Bringing Wild Flowers Back

D

id you know that a packet of wildflower seed can cost you up to £7.50 an ounce? With this in mind, if you do make the decision to dedicate an area of your garden or landscape scheme to creating a wildflower meadow it becomes all the more important that you obtain the desired results. MeadowMat is a 50/50 blend of native grasses and wildflowers grown on to a thin layer of growing medium and supported by a lightweight net.

It is our unique method for growing MeadowMat that ensures that what we sow is what we grow and a clean germination is key to this. So many people have attempted to grow expensive wildflowers only to be disappointed when their wildflowers either fail to germinate or they get swamped out by unwanted invasive weeds that have germinated from the prepared soil. The answer is MeadowMat. We`ve done all the hard work and the MeadowMat you purchase from us will provide an instant beautiful wildflower meadow. Whether you install a small amount of MeadowMat in your garden or you use the pre-grown mats for a larger project you can rest assured that this high quality wild flower mat will soon be attracting and supporting a wealth of wildlife such as bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies, crawling insects, amphibians, birds and small mammals. Another advantage of our unique growing system is that the plant roots remain undamaged during harvesting. MeadowMat is easy to install and will establish quickly into almost any situation, however, we do recommend laying it on to impoverished soil. The dense root mat produced by MeadowMat helps suppress the growth of annual weeds.

As previously mentioned, MeadowMat thrives in impoverished soils, if you require we can supply MeadowMat soil. As a guide 1 cubic metre will provide a coverage of 1" over an are of 30 square metres. We can also supply weed control fabric to go beneath the MeadowMat if required. Visit our blog for up to the minute news and pictures of MeadowMat or use the form on the right to ask us anything.
