Summer Wild Flowers in 2016 - Some Pictures To Inspire You

Facebook Twitter Google+ Pinterest LinkedIn Email

The spring of 2016 was late coming and when it did, it was wet.  Rainy day followed rainy day. But when the wild flowers finally started to bloom in the Meadowmat production fields, they were glorious.

I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures as much as I enjoyed posting them.

Photos were taken by our Production Manager, Robert Allen.  The two little characters you'll spot amongst the flowers are Rolo and Jet, Robert's two cocker spaniels.

a big area of red campion flowers in bloom

Red campions always give a good show of blooms.  These could be seen from two fields away!

Harebell with various wildflowers including ladys bedstraw and maiden pink

Meadowmat for Birds and Bees is vibrantly coloured.  Here we can see Maiden pink, White clover, Lady's bedstraw, Birdsfoot trefoil, Selfheal and, in the foreground, Harebell.

For those of you who enjoy experimenting with plant combinations - how about this one?  Turfted vetch and Birdsfoot trefoil growing side by side in Meadowmat for Cottage Gardens.  Stunning or what?

wild flowers: fox and cubs growing with ragged robin

Bright orange coloured Fox and cubs flowers contrast with pink Ragged robin and yellow Birdsfoot trefoil.  This is Meadowmat for Birds and Bees looking amazing.

Meadowmat for Roof and Garden - more beautiful than any formal herbaceous border  - well, I think so anyway.

This dog never fails to make me smile.  A wet Jet looking for something in the Ragged robin patch.
