Honey-roasted plums with rose-water cream

Serves 6

9 large plums, halved and stoned

5 bay leaves

4 tbsp clear honey

3 tbsp lemon juice

150ml (1/4 pint) double cream

2 tbsp icing sugar

1 tbsp rose water

150g (5oz) Greek yogurt

Seeds from 1 pomegranate

Heat the oven to 180 C, 160C fan, 350F or Gas 4

Arrange the plums, cut side up, in a small roasting tin and tuck the bay leaves in around them

Mix the honey and lemon juice and spoon over the plums

Roast for 30 minutes until the plums are beginning to look baked but still retain their shape

Meanwhile combine the cream with the icing sugar and rose water then whisk in the Greek yogurt

Scatter the plums with pomegranate seeds and serve with the rose-water cream on the side
